1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how tayari (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal and project information you provide when using the tayari platform, accessible at tayari.app and related domains.

By creating an account or using the service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored only in hashed form via our authentication provider).
• Project information: data you enter into the platform — project name, sector, country, developer details, financial inputs, contract module answers, and bankability assessment responses.
• Payment information: handled by our payment processor (Paystack). We receive confirmation of successful payment and a reference code, but we do not store your full card details.
• Usage information: basic technical data such as browser type, operating system, and pages visited, used for debugging and improving the platform.
• Communications: any messages you send via the contact form or email.

3. How we use your information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the tayari platform.
• Generate your bankability assessments, reports, and module results.
• Process payments for Pro subscriptions.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, billing notifications).
• Respond to your support queries and feedback.
• Detect and prevent misuse or fraud.

We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. We do not use your project data to train AI models.

4. Storage and processors

Your account and project data are stored in databases managed by Supabase (backed by AWS), with row-level security ensuring that only you can access your own data. Payment processing is handled by Paystack. Website hosting is provided by Netlify.

These processors are contractually obligated to handle your data in line with their own privacy and security practices.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and project information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will permanently remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax records relating to payments).

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your project data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw your consent to processing at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (or the equivalent authority in your jurisdiction) if you believe your rights have been violated.

7. Cookies & tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies strictly necessary for authentication (keeping you signed in) and for remembering your active project. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Security

We apply industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level database security, hashed passwords, and restricted access to our infrastructure. No system can be made entirely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access or disclosure.

9. Children

The tayari platform is intended for use by professionals in infrastructure development and financing. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through an in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
